4G Systems -WiMAX and LTE Seminar
November 16, 2009 -
On Saturday, 7 November 2009, IEEE Alex SB organized a successful seminar about “4G Systems - WiMAX and LTE” in M2, Preparatory Building. The seminar was presented by Prof. Dr. Essam Sourour, Electrical Engineering Dept., Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University & Eng/ Ahmed Hamza, DSP Engineer, SysdSoft.
Firstly, Dr. Essam talked about the wireless world map and how IEEE participate in developing the Wireless standards, then he showed the advantages of 4G systems over the current ones, discussing the enabling technologies and the differences & similarities between WiMAX and LTE.
After a 15-minute break, Eng/ Ahmed Hamza gave an introduction on mobile systems from design to operation, after that he moved on to the development process of the physical layer of WiMAX.
To conclude with, Eng/ Ahmed Hamza provided the attendees with valuable advices in the engineering carreer.
The seminar laid the foundation of the 4G systems, focusing on WiMAX and LTE systems.
