ITW '09 will be held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ismail Sergaeldin, Director of the BA and Prof. Dr. Said El-Khamy, IEEE Alexandria Subsection Chairman. Speakers will be industry experts, university professors and highly-reputed soft skills trainers.

History (ITW '05)

"Interact with Today's World: Einstein Symposium Pre-event", was the title of a 2-day series of seminars which was organized by IEEE AlexSB in cooperation with the PSC (Planetarium Science Center) of Bibliotheca Alexandrina. It took place during 11th to 12th of February, 2005 at the main conference hall of Alexandria conference center. Keynote speakers included Prof. Dr. Ismail Serageldin, the BA director and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Younis, IEEE Egypt Section Chairman.

Sessions on the first day covered very modern technology topics at the time including: WLANs, Robotics, DSP for multimedia communications. As for day 2, sessions were focused on personal and communication skills development. This event attracted 464 attendees, 392 out of which were students specializing in electrical engineering and related fields.


(ITW '08)

The second episode of ITW came in 2008, to continue the success of its precedent. It was held in the period 13 – 15 July 2008, in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center. ITW 2008 covered very modern technology topics including: UNIX and Linux operating systems, WiMAX, embedded systems, analogue & digital systems design and distributed control systems (DCS). The event also featured some soft skills sessions aiming at raising the professional awareness of the event attendees and providing them with the non-technical skills needed to succeed in today's world, such as: Team working, leadership skills and mind mapping techniques.

It worth mentioning that the ITW conference series has won the prestigious IEEE Darrel Chong Student Activity Silver Award 2008 for the organization of the ITW'08 episode.
